Portraits by Lewis was officially launched in 1978 by Lewis Blau. Today, his son Ryan Blau has taken over this highly successful family business, to carry on the tradition which has developed into PBL Photography.

At age 14, Lewis was introduced to the industry by holding lights and carrying equipment for local photographers to earn extra money. Studying alongside some of Montreal's recognizable social photographers, it was not long before he acquired a deep passion for the craft.

Best known for its portrait studio location in Chomedey, Laval, PBL Photography made the decision to expand its facilities to a larger social and commercial studio in St. Laurent. With a constantly expanding clientele, the opportunity to relocate to a central part of Montreal came at the right time.

In 2002, after graduating with honors at Dawson College Institute of Photography and the many years of hands on experience with his mentor, Ryan has carved an outstanding reputation for himself in the field of photography.

Started by a husband and wife team, Portraits by Lewis went on to expand into the well known company it is today. PBL Photography currently employs a network of exceptionally talented staff and has photographed people and places not just in Montreal, but around the world.
